Re Abdul's Estate and Folygamous
lly dear Malkin,
Arru
Marriages.
I find that two years ago I took it upon
my self to sdrise that the offspring of polygamous
marriages in a Colony could not be recognised as
"children" for the purpose of being included in a
certificate under the British Nationality and Status
of Aliens Act, 1914. Lord Merrivale's observationa
as to "wife" in the Abdul case appear to support what
I wrote about the "children".
In order to save writing at length, i enclose
our Office paper concerning the Hong Kong case for you
to Bee.
My recollection is that some time after advising on it I met redder and put the point to him,
and that he then said that though the llome Office had
not had occasion to deal with it, he was disposed to
think that I was right. What do you say?

You fonceul,
Malin Aishay.
